Thailand's Prime Minister Petongtan Shinawatra recently disclosed her personal assets valued at $400 million, which include two properties in London, investments in several companies, and a range of luxury watches and bags. This 38-year-old member of the Shinawatra family also listed cash and deposits of 1.09 billion Thai baht (approximately $31.6 million) across more than 26 bank accounts. When she disclosed this information to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) of Thailand, her total assets reached 13.85 billion Thai baht (approximately $400 million). According to documents revealed by local media, Petongtan also reported debts of nearly 5 billion Thai baht, resulting in a net worth of 8.9 billion Thai baht ($25.8 million). Petongtan is the youngest daughter of Thaksin and became the third member of the Shinawatra family to lead Thailand in August 2024, following the removal of former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin by the Constitutional Court for ethical violations. Petongtan's spouse, Pidok, reported assets of 147 million Thai baht and an income of 5.13 million Thai baht from the previous year, which included earnings from cryptocurrency trading. (Jin Shi)
