According to ChainCatcher, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson responded to the controversy regarding the governance structure of the Cardano Foundation (CF), emphasizing the importance of decentralized principles and community oversight.

The controversy originated from Rick McCracken, a well-known figure in the Cardano community, questioning the leadership and transparency of the foundation, arguing that there is a lack of effective community oversight. Charles Hoskinson pointed out that the foundation has no direct ties to IOHK and Emurgo, and that the utilization of the $600 million ADA treasury funds does not adequately represent community interests.

Furthermore, Hoskinson criticized the foundation for not actively supporting project funding, which could impact ecosystem development, and stated that this approach could lead to sustainability issues for the ecosystem in the future.

Hoskinson also updated Cardano's governance plan, highlighting the progress of the CIP-1694 proposal and the Cardano constitution draft, aimed at advancing decentralized governance and enhancing the community's role in decision-making.
