CoinWorld news, CoinDesk reports that Kaspersky's latest report shows that a new type of scam targeting cryptocurrency thieves has become popular on YouTube. Scammers disguise themselves as novices and share wallet mnemonic phrases in the comments section to lure others into stealing USDT worth $8,000 from the wallets. These wallets are multi-signature wallets, and when the thieves pay TRX as gas fees to attempt a transfer, the TRX is redirected to a wallet controlled by the scammers. Since the gas fees for most blockchains are less than $10, this scam mainly targets small-time thieves.
