New cryptocurrency scam: Trapping thieves with public recovery phrases

🔍 According to the latest report from Kaspersky, a new cryptocurrency scam is emerging, targeting opportunists. Scammers publicly share cryptocurrency wallet recovery phrases in YouTube comments, creating "bait" wallets to lure thieves.

- Initially, a comment under a financial video requests help transferring USDT, along with a recovery phrase. This may raise suspicion among others, but it’s also a trap for the greedy.

- For example, this wallet requires multiple signatures to execute transactions. When the thief attempts to transfer USDT, they find they lack TRX to pay the fees. If they send TRX from their own wallet, the funds will be transferred to another wallet.

Kaspersky states that this trick primarily targets thieves, turning them into victims of their own schemes. 🎭
