The court found that the defendant Wen and several accomplices used fictitious identities to chat with foreign personnel, and after gaining their trust, induced them to purchase virtual currency for fraudulent purposes. During this period, a total of 54,360 fraudulent messages were sent, and Wen illegally profited 2,400 yuan.
After comprehensively considering the facts, nature, circumstances, and social harm of Wen's crime, the court sentenced the defendant Wen for fraud in accordance with relevant provisions of the Criminal Law, imposing a prison term of three years and a fine of 20,000 yuan. After the verdict, Wen expressed his intention to appeal in court.
