New Year is just around the corner, and crypto traders around the world are already wondering: will Santa Claus bring a few "Xs" to their dusty altcoins? Because without a crypto miracle under the tree, this holiday is definitely not a holiday.
Santa, give it to HODL!
Imagine: December 24th, evening. Bitcoin is soaring to new heights, ether is dancing on the chart like a professional choreographer, and XRP is still pouring out generous green candles. You look at your portfolio and finally think: "Well, now you can open the champagne!".
But don't worry, my friends, this is the crypto market. Here, even Santa can come with a security token instead of a gift and take a couple of hundred bucks from your account "for service."
The legend of the New Year's bull run
They say that at the end of the year the market revives: all the big players buy assets, and retail rushes after them like children after candy. And already on December 31 you write in chats something like: "Well, this is definitely a new bull run! I'll take some more DOGE so as not to fly away!".
And then on January 2nd you wake up, and the chart shows -20%, and your portfolio looks like a New Year's train has run through it.
CryptoGrinch: who will ruin our holiday?
Don't forget about the "crypto-Grinchi":
Regulators: always happy to send their new laws under the Christmas tree to remind us who's in charge.
Whales: These are always ready to "unload" their assets just when you are rejoicing in the New Year's growth.
Your own FOMO: the main enemy that makes you buy coins at the peak and sell at the bottom.
Miracle or complacency?
But let's be honest: the "crypto miracle" is a myth we created ourselves. We all want to believe that the market is about to explode on New Year's Eve, but the reality is more often like an office birthday party - lots of promises and minimal surprises.
What to do?
HODL if you can: the main thing is not to buy on emotions, because your nerves won't stand it.
Take a closer look at stablecoins: it's better to welcome the new year without surprises than with a negative balance in your portfolio.
Ignore the news: at the end of the year everyone is shouting about new ATHs, but you should only listen to yourself.
So, there may not be a miraculous renaissance for the crypto market under the Christmas tree. But it's still nice to believe in it. And if Santa doesn't bring a bull run, he'll at least leave a couple of satoshis "for fun."
