CoinVoice has recently learned that, according to Businessinsider, former FTX executive Salame pleaded guilty last September, admitting to participating in a conspiracy for illegal political donations and operating an unlicensed remittance business, and was sentenced to 7 and a half years in prison, starting his sentence in October of this year.
However, according to the federal prison bureau records reviewed, Salame's scheduled release date is set for March 1, 2031, which is just over a year short of the 7 and a half years.
A spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons stated that the agency does not comment on the conditions of confinement (including release plans) for any inmate, but noted that under the 2018 First Step Act, inmates may earn time off their sentences for good behavior. [Original link]
