Bitcoin could change radically next year if the Bitcoin community decides to reintroduce OP_CAT, an opcode removed in the Satoshi era.

The mere introduction of this opcode would allow for the addition of covenants, ZK-rollups, and native L2s to Bitcoin.

OP_CAT was removed after an event known as the value overflow incident, which occurred in 2010.
