Blockchain security experts at Scam Sniffer have uncovered a new scam that uses Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Ads to trick cryptocurrency owners into visiting a fake Pudgy Penguins website.

The analysts explained that the malicious ads contain suspicious JavaScript code that checks whether the user has a crypto wallet. If one is detected, the code redirects future victims to a fake website that mimics the official Pudgy Penguins NFT project website.

Once users are on the fake website, the scammers gain access to their personal information or trick victims into connecting their wallets and stealing funds.

While the hackers are using a fake Pudgy Penguins NFT project resource, Scam Sniffer experts warn that this method could easily be adapted to work with other crypto projects. They advise checking the URL carefully before clicking on the site and using ad blockers.

The new scam is part of a new trend in which hackers are using well-known advertising platforms like Google Ads to steal cryptocurrency. $BTC $LQTY $XLM #BtcNewHolder
