In the cryptocurrency world, 2024 was marked by an increase in cyberattacks. According to a Cyvers report, crypto thieves stole $2.3 billion worth of assets in 165 incidents in 2024, a 40% increase compared to 2023.
The main reason for this increase was determined to be access control breaches in centralized exchanges and crypto custody services. The compromise of private keys and weak key management systems are among the main causes of these breaches.
Stronger security measures are needed to prevent similar losses in 2025. Do you think these measures will be enough? Share your thoughts in the comments.
