According to Foresight News, Russia's TASS reported that from January 1, 2025, 10 regions of Russia (Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, Chechnya, Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Zaporizhia and Kherson) will completely ban cryptocurrency mining for six years. The ban will last until March 15, 2031. Russian legislators also approved seasonal restrictions in major cryptocurrency mining areas to prevent power outages. These restrictions are consistent with the Russian cryptocurrency mining regulations signed by the president in August and October 2024.
