Odaily Planet Daily News - Global cybersecurity and antivirus company Kaspersky detailed a new cryptocurrency scam in a blog post released on Monday, where scammers post cryptocurrency wallet seed phrases in YouTube comments to lure potential victims. The scam targets users trying to access wallets using seed phrases. Once inside, they find thousands of dollars in USDT but must first pay a small TRX fee to transfer the funds. The trap lies in the fact that the bait is set up as a multi-signature wallet. To authorize spending transactions from such wallets, approval from two or more people is required, making it impossible to transfer USDT to a personal wallet even after paying the 'commission.' Any TRX used to pay the fees is transferred to another wallet controlled by the scammers, leaving the victims empty-handed. Kaspersky advises cryptocurrency users to avoid accessing others' wallets, no matter how tempting the opportunity may seem.
