MicroStrategy buys 5,262 Bitcoin at an average BTC price of USD 106K

MicroStrategy slowed down Bitcoin purchases last week, reporting the smallest BTC purchase since July 2024.

The corporate Bitcoin investor MicroStrategy continued its aggressive Bitcoin purchases last week in line with its founder's promise to keep accumulating the asset at peak prices.

MicroStrategy acquired 5,262 BTC during the period from December 16 to December 22, investing approximately USD 561 million in the asset, as officially announced by the company on December 23.

In its latest Bitcoin purchase, MicroStrategy bought the cryptocurrency at an average price of approximately USD 106,662, the highest cost the company has ever paid for BTC.

MicroStrategy slows down the pace of BTC purchases

MicroStrategy's acquisition of Bitcoin follows a series of massive BTC purchases in December. In the last three weeks, MicroStrategy bought a total of 42,162 BTC, which amounts to USD 4 billion.

MicroStrategy's latest Bitcoin purchase represents only about 12% of its total Bitcoin accumulations in December.

The latest purchase is the smallest amount of BTC bought and announced by MicroStrategy since June and July 2024, when it bought 169 BTC.
