📢 Trump to Appoint Former PayPal COO to Head AI and Cryptocurrency Affairs

U.S. presidential candidate Trump announced that he will appoint former PayPal COO David Sacks as the newly created "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cryptocurrency Czar" at the White House.

Sacks is a wealthy American tech entrepreneur, regarded as a member of the "PayPal Mafia," a group of influential tech entrepreneurs that includes Tesla CEO Elon Musk and one of PayPal's founders, Peter Thiel. They are all early members from PayPal's formative years and have used their influence to support conservative policies and candidates.

Trump stated on social media: "David (Sacks) will lead the government's policies on AI and cryptocurrency, two areas crucial for America's future competitiveness." He also said that Sacks will defend online free speech and lead us away from the biases and censorship of tech giants.

Sacks will lead the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) and provide advice to the Trump administration on cryptocurrency and AI. He has strongly supported J.D. Vance as Trump's running mate in this U.S. presidential election and invited Vance to his podcast.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin today briefly broke the symbolic $100,000 mark. Since Trump's election, Bitcoin's price has surged over 50%; Trump has vowed to make America the "World Capital of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency."
