According to BlockBeats, on December 23, Trump appointed former college football player and Republican House candidate Bo Hines as the executive director of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Digital Assets, which Trump referred to as the 'Crypto Committee.'
Trump stated, 'In his new position, Bo Hines will work with David Sacks on cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence to promote innovation and growth in the digital asset space, while ensuring industry leaders have the resources they need to succeed. Together, they will create an environment that allows this industry to thrive and continue to be a cornerstone of American technological advancement.'
Bo Hines was once a college football player who lost to a Democratic opponent in the election and received the Republican nomination for North Carolina's 13th congressional district. Bo Hines was funded by a pro-cryptocurrency PAC during the 2022 congressional campaign, with some of the funds coming from FTX executive Ryan Salame. Bo Hines ran again in 2024 in the same district but failed to secure the Republican nomination, finishing fourth with 14.4% of the vote.
