PANews reported on December 21 that according to Cryptopotato, the on-chain user report released by Flipside shows that in 2024, Ethereum and Base lead in on-chain user growth, while Bitcoin saw almost no growth, with:
1. Base's monthly new users skyrocketed 56 times this year; in October 2024, the number of new users in the cryptocurrency space surged to a record 19.4 million, with Base contributing 13.7 million, nearly 8 times that of the second-place Polygon.
2. Ethereum's average monthly new users reached 1.56 million, surpassing Layer 2 networks Arbitrum and Optimism. The number of DeFi-related super users on the Ethereum chain reached 10.9 million, far exceeding Arbitrum and Optimism's user counts of 6.2 million and 1.8 million respectively.
3. Bitcoin's new users grew by only 935,900 per month; during the significant increase in Bitcoin in March, the monthly new user count for the Bitcoin network grew by 19.2%, but during the increase after the November U.S. elections, the number of new Bitcoin users dropped by 28.5%.
