North Korean hackers stole $1.3 billion worth of cryptocurrency in 2024, double the amount in 2023, according to data from the analytics company Chainalysis. In 2024, hackers linked to the DPRK carried out 47 attacks, accounting for 61% of all recorded cryptocurrency thefts for the year. In 2023, they stole $660 million. Chainalysis noted that the number of large attacks from $50 million to $100 million and above has increased significantly, indicating that the attackers are becoming more effective. Since July 2024, hacker activity has decreased, possibly due to the strengthening of ties between the DPRK and Russia, but experts do not rule out spikes during the holiday period.$MOVE$CTXC$ME#2024withBinance
