🆘Elon Musk Partners with Trump to Stir Trouble, U.S. Government Faces Shutdown🇱🇷

With only two days left before a potential U.S. government shutdown, President-elect Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk launched a fierce attack on the bipartisan temporary funding bill, causing this 1,500-page bill to hit a snag.

Musk was the first to tweet, stating, “Any Congressman or Senator who votes for this ridiculous spending bill should be voted out in two years!” This statement quickly ignited dissent within the Republican Party.

Trump and Vance subsequently issued a joint statement, claiming the bill contains “too many concessions to the Democrats” and called for renegotiation, while also demanding Congress raise the debt ceiling.

Republican House Majority Leader Steve Scalise confirmed Wednesday evening that after Trump’s opposition statement, the bill originally intended to keep the government running until March 14 next year is now “effectively dead.”

Musk also urged Congress on social media to shut down the government until Trump is inaugurated on January 20. Clearly, he, alongside Vivek Ramaswamy, who is set to head Trump's government spending reduction plan, is leading an online campaign against the bill.

This bill, valued at over $110 billion, includes several important provisions:

· Emergency aid funding for natural disasters like hurricanes

· Rebuilding the collapsed Baltimore bridge

· Allowing congressional members to receive a pay raise for the first time in 15 years

· Reforming healthcare policy

· Enhancing pricing transparency for flights and hotels

· Tracking drones to address the recent mysterious drone incidents on the East Coast

Despite the broad scope of the bill's contents, Musk and others have described it as a “wasteful tax dollar Democratic plan.”

Trump and Vice President-elect Vance called for renegotiation in a joint statement, arguing that the current version concedes too much to the Democrats. They also requested that raising the debt ceiling be included in the discussions.

White House spokesperson Jean-Pierre responded, stating: Republicans should honor their commitments. An agreement is an agreement.

If Congress fails to pass a new funding bill by this weekend, multiple federal government departments will begin shutting down starting Saturday. This will mark the 22nd government shutdown in the past 50 years. During Trump’s first term, the U.S. experienced the longest government shutdown lasting 35 days.
