In yesterday's article, I mainly cited an idea from the reference article:
Even NFT project parties can consider issuing their own AI agents.
In fact, there are already NFT projects with such cases.
However, in this case, the AI agent was initiated not by the project party, but by enthusiasts from the community. mfer was an NFT that was relatively popular on external networks. An enthusiast from this NFT community, @HeresMyEth, initiated an AI agent focused on mfer, @mferGPT.
However, this project currently has little impact, and I haven't seen any major NFT project parties personally operate like this.
In fact, there is no need to limit such operations to NFT projects; it can also encompass all activities related to AI agents, such as building platforms similar to Virtuals.
I saw such a case over the weekend.
Speaking of zkSync, its airdrop once left painful memories for countless opportunists. After the token airdrop, it seems I have not heard the community discuss this once-promising Ethereum second-layer extension, nor have I heard anyone talk about projects on this second-layer extension.
But while I was wandering around over the weekend, I suddenly discovered that a DEX on this second-layer extension has now transformed to imitate the gameplay of Virtuals. This DEX is Holdstation (
https://holdstation.exchange/).
I have interacted with this DEX purely to take advantage of it. The only impression it left on me is that it supports Pay Master, allowing users to choose to pay gas fees with its token (Hold). This made my experience much smoother.
Besides this, I don't see any highlights of this DEX.
If I hadn't seen its news while wandering over the weekend, I wouldn't have thought of this DEX at all.
In addition to continuing to maintain DEX operations, it has also transformed into an AI agent financing platform like Virtuals, and it seems to have gained ecological support.
Its gameplay completely mimics Virtuals, allowing supported AI agents to issue tokens, and users must purchase these AI agent tokens through its platform token, Hold.
Currently, there are already AI agents issued on this DEX, but these agents do not have many highlights, and it seems that not many people know about them. Only the project party itself is tirelessly promoting and advertising on Twitter.
Regardless of whether this new method is effective, the project's rapid actions already indicate that they consider this gameplay to be a 'lifeline'.
This sign makes me even more convinced that the gameplay of Virtuals will quickly expand to other ecosystems and be used by more struggling project parties to 'revive'.
If this gameplay is linked to the countless second-layer extensions currently available, there will be even more segmented imaginative space.
Doesn't Uniswap have its own Unichain now?
Regarding the development direction of Unichain, there are dedicated articles on Messari analyzing whether it is a general-purpose chain or a DeFi-specific chain.
Now it seems there is no need to argue. If Uniswap also adopts the method of Virtuals, specifically fostering AI agents dedicated to DeFi on Unichain (such as trading agents, payment agents, etc.), and uses its UNI token as a medium for exchanging these AI agent tokens, then it can develop its own DeFi AI agent ecosystem on its chain.
Moreover, this is also a legitimate, non-regulatory-violating, token-empowering, safe, and effective method.
Don't Bored Apes and Magic have their own dedicated gaming (second-layer extension) chains, ApeChain and Treasure?
They can also adopt the gameplay of Virtuals to cultivate game-like AI agents within their own ecosystem and strongly empower their tokens. In this way, they can establish their own game-related AI agent ecosystem and support the price of their tokens.
If this idea can be implemented, I estimate that what will likely erupt next will not only be AI agents but also a simultaneous explosion of second-layer extensions and AI agents—any strong and robust project will consider building its own second-layer extension and then establishing its own AI agent ecosystem on that second-layer extension.
The imaginative space will be very large.
