Binance's Shocking Blunder! PENGU Coin's Market Value Mislabeling Sparks Trading Frenzy
Dear friends in the crypto circle, a big event is here! Binance made a huge mistake when launching Puddy Penguins (PENGU Coin), and now everyone is talking about it.
Here's what happened: In the first 30 minutes after PENGU Coin was launched, Binance displayed its market value as one-tenth of 350 million dollars, meaning 350 million turned into 350 million with just a decimal point added! This is not a minor error; it's a billion-level blunder that directly caused chaos in trading.
It was later found that the main data provider for Binance, CoinMarketCap (CMC), was slow to update information.
The good news is that after discovering the problem, Binance immediately began to resolve it, working with CMC to fix this mess and publicly issued an apology acknowledging their mistake.
But they didn't stop there—between 14:00 and 14:37 on December 17, during this chaotic trading period, Binance will airdrop 135 million PENGU Coins as compensation to the affected traders.
Binance also promised to strengthen its own operations, planning to find other data sources and to be stricter with CMC’s reviews.
This is an expensive lesson for the exchange and serves as a reminder to us traders that even on the largest platforms, we must always remain vigilant.
For the upcoming layout direction, I will lead everyone to aim for the lucrative opportunities in copycat projects, especially those with great potential, where an expected growth of more than 10 times is very feasible.
