Binance recently apologized for an issue with the listing of Puddy Penguins ($PENGU) that affected investors. The problem arose when the exchange displayed incorrect market data for the first 30 minutes of PENGU's listing. During this time, Binance reflected PENGU’s market value as $350 million instead of its actual value, which was $3.5 billion. This error, caused by a delay in updating token information from the data provider CoinMarketCap (CMC), led to significant trading discrepancies and impacted investors. Binance responded by issuing an apology, explaining that it had alerted CMC to the issue, which was quickly resolved. To compensate users who were affected by the erroneous data, Binance announced a large airdrop, distributing 135 million PENGU tokens to those who traded during the period from 14:00 to 14:37 on December 17. Binance also pledged to implement measures to prevent such problems in the future, including using alternative data sources and conducting further reviews with CMC. #BTCNewATH #BinanceAlphaTop5
