ChainCatcher news, former South Korean Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Nam-guk attended the first public trial today at the Southern Seoul Court for allegedly concealing his cryptocurrency holdings and falsely reporting his assets in the National Assembly property declarations for 2021 and 2022. Former lawmaker Kim is accused of obstructing the National Assembly Ethics Committee's review of asset changes by transferring part of his cryptocurrency deposits to a bank account to adjust the total asset amount and converting the remaining portion into cryptocurrency. The court decided to sentence him to 6 months in prison. The incident is still under further investigation.
