Due to a delay in updating Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) token information by CoinMarketCap (CMC), the market capitalization and fully diluted valuation (FDV) displayed on Binance Spot were not updated in time during the listing. Upon discovery, Binance promptly notified CMC, and the data has since been refreshed.
While blockchain's transparent nature ensures reliable and up-to-date on-chain data, Binance uses third-party sources like CMC to provide convenient reference information for users.
As a gesture of goodwill, Binance will distribute 135,000,000 PENGU tokens to eligible users who purchased PENGU between 2024-12-17 14:00 (UTC) and 2024-12-17 14:37 (UTC). Airdrop distributions will be credited within 72 hours to eligible accounts.
Airdrop Details
Snapshot Period: 2024-12-17 14:00 (UTC) – 2024-12-17 14:37 (UTC)
Eligible Users: Users who purchased PENGU on Binance Spot (excludes the project’s market makers and VIP 4–9 users).
Airdrop Calculation: Based on the user’s purchase volume during the snapshot period.
For example, if User A purchased 10 PENGU at 2024-12-17 14:10 (UTC) and sold it later, their airdrop share will be:
(10 / Total PENGU purchased by all eligible users) * 135,000,000 PENGU.
Binance sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused. To prevent similar issues, Binance will review processes with CMC and explore alternative data sources for improved reliability.
