PANews reported on December 18 that Binance announced that due to the data provider CoinMarketCap (CMC) delaying the update of the PENGU token market value and fully diluted valuation (FDV) information, Binance will airdrop 135 million PENGU tokens to users who bought PENGU in the spot market between 22:00 and 22:37 (Eastern Time Zone 8) on December 17, 2024. The airdrop will be completed within 72 hours. Eligible users (except project market makers and VIP 4 to VIP 9 users) will be allocated airdropped tokens based on the proportion of purchases. Binance apologized for the incident and promised to optimize the data source to prevent similar problems from happening again, while reminding that on-chain data is the most timely and accurate reference source.
