What are altcoins brewing lately?

Bitcoin continues to hit new highs, but the market reaction is unusually calm. Observations show that most altcoins are underperforming, with Ethereum struggling to stabilize at $4100, Solana continuing to decline, and the popularity of meme coins waning.

Currently, the altcoin market seems to be a double-edged sword: holding them seems to yield no improvement; letting go, however, feels unsatisfying. Historically, altcoins have spent most of their time slowly declining or adjusting, with only a few brief moments of rapid surges.

Some coins may decline slowly for a long time, only to shoot up quickly in just a few weeks, making the current altcoin market seem tasteless yet regrettable to abandon.

Today, the crypto space seems to have turned into a one-man show for Bitcoin, as consensus around Bitcoin continues to strengthen, with many traditional financial institutions starting to participate. However, their funds mostly flow in and out through ETFs, no longer pouring into the altcoin market on a large scale.

Many firmly believe that the season for altcoins will eventually arrive, considering staying in the market the best choice. However, historical experience tells us that intense market volatility often accompanies a frenzied bull market.

Currently, many altcoins have accumulated considerable gains, with potential for further increases in the future, but the situation is vastly different compared to 2017 and 2021. In the past, even buying blindly could yield several times the return, whereas now, the performance of altcoins in 2024 and 2025 may be rarer, and many altcoins in hand may not even outperform Bitcoin.

The high volatility of Bitcoin should have been a good opportunity for altcoins to perform, yet they collectively choose to slide downwards. If the market continues to rise, this may be a good time to sell. Once Bitcoin experiences a correction, altcoins might suffer a severe setback, which is not uncommon in history.

Considering the current accumulation of market bubbles, perhaps a more rational approach would be to wait for the next market washout opportunity, avoiding losses each time the market adjusts.
