The upcoming stablecoin RLUSD from Ripple is attracting up to 836 XRP on online platforms ahead of its launch on Tuesday. This indicates a buzz among enthusiasts who may want to be among the first to get their hands on the token.
As of Tuesday morning in Asia, bids ranged from 500 XRP to 836 XRP, as seen in the Xaman app reviewed by CoinDesk. According to this data, each XRP is selling for just under $2.5.
"There is actually someone willing to pay $1200 for a tiny fraction of one RLUSD," wrote Ripple Labs CTO David Schwartz on Monday. "The tools will show you the highest price someone is willing to pay, even if it’s just a little bit." Perhaps someone wants to "show off" that they bought the first portion of RLUSD on DEX.
"But rest assured, the price will return close to $1 once the supply stabilizes. If it doesn’t, then something is very seriously wrong," Schwartz added.
