đš Unprecedented seizure of cryptocurrency ATMs
The Paris Prosecutor's Office has published information concerning an operation carried out by the Paris JIRS as part of an investigation into illegal activity as a digital asset service provider (DAP) and aggravated money laundering.
đ 13 cryptocurrency ATMs worth âŹ160,000 and âŹ24,400 in cash were seized. These ATMs allowed the conversion of fiat currencies (FIAT) into cryptocurrencies without identity verification or registration with the AMF, in exchange for high commissions.
This investigation, supported by several specialized services, was triggered by a report from the Financial Markets Authority (AMF), responsible for regulating DAPs in France.
âïž The Prosecutor's Office reminds that any person wishing to offer digital asset services in France must be registered with the AMF.
