BTC Holdings: General Overview
With total holdings of 1,305,587 BTC (which is at least 6.21% of the total BTC supply), ETFs still hold the highest amount of BTC. Public companies, with 529,558 BTC, and countries, with 575,911 BTC, follow. Interestingly, private companies hold over 366,738 BTC and DeFi has at least 155,936 BTC. Additionally, BTC mining companies own over 84,008 BTC.
US Spot ETF
There are at least 12 Bitcoin ETFs in the United States. In total, these funds hold at least 1,104,534 BTC.
Satoshi Nakamoto
Although U.S. spot ETFs have surpassed Nakamoto in terms of BTC holdings, the Bitcoin founder remains a strong holder in second place, with 1,100,000 BTC.
Binance
The popular cryptocurrency exchange Binance still holds third place. This exchange has over 633,000 BTC. Interestingly, this is not the only exchange on the list of the top ten.

As mentioned above, public companies hold over 575,911 BTC. MicroStrategy holds at least 76.23% of the total holdings of public companies, about 439,002 BTC, worth $46,733,453,057. This allows the company to remain in fourth place on the list of top holders.
U.S. Government
As mentioned earlier, countries own over 529,558 BTC. The U.S. government, with holdings of 207,189 BTC, accounts for at least 39.12% of the total holdings of countries.
Chinese Government
The Chinese government, creating fierce competition with the U.S., remains in sixth place. With 194,000 BTC held, China accounts for at least 36.63% of the total BTC holdings of countries.
Bitfinex
This is another cryptocurrency exchange on the list. This exchange has over 184,027 BTC.
Kraken
This is the third largest exchange in the list of the top ten holders of BTC. This exchange holds approximately 158,959 BTC.
Block One
As noted earlier, private companies hold over 366,738 BTC – at least 1.746% of the 21 million BTC tokens. With 140,000 BTC held, Block One accounts for nearly 38.17% of the total BTC holdings of private companies.
Robinhood
In tenth place, once again, is an exchange – Robinhood. This exchange holds up to 142,361 BTC.
