Odaily Planet Daily News - The U.S. Senate Banking Committee will once again attempt to confirm Caroline Crenshaw for another term as a commissioner of the U.S. SEC, to prevent the Democrats from losing majority control in January. Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown (who will leave Congress on January 3) plans to hold a nomination vote for Crenshaw on December 18. Brown stated that the delay in the nomination decision was due to Republican senators "acting for corporate special interest groups," possibly partly referring to the cryptocurrency industry. At least one organization linked to cryptocurrency, Cedar Innovation Foundation, has petitioned U.S. legislators against Crenshaw's nomination. (Cointelegraph)
