It's today! The day the world has been waiting for has finally arrived: the Etna mainnet is officially launched! After months of waiting, this major update marks an important step in the evolution of the Avalanche blockchain.
As I had already told you in my previous articles to readhereThis mainnet marks a new step in the technological revolution, I will tell you about the two most important new features for users. I will look at the other new features later.
Transaction Fee reduced to 1 gwei
One of the improvements that everyone was waiting for, with the deployment of Ethan, was the drop in transaction fees to 1 gwei, which was made possible thanks to ACP-125.
To put it simply, transactions on the C-chain cost you much less.
It is not only on the C-chain that the fees are reduced, on the P-chain with ACP-103 the fees will be dynamic, that is to say that it will cost you much less during periods of low demand.
Become a Validator for 1.3 AVAX/month instead of 2000 AVAX
You always wanted to be a L1 validator, but you don't have 2000 AVAX! Say thanks to ACP-77 which allows L1 blockchains to be totally independent with its own rules, staking, totally independent governance.
Yes yes, you read correctly becoming a validator will only cost you 1.33 AVAX! which will allow you to have more opportunities and make the development of L1 much faster and at little cost.
The Ethna mainnet isn’t just a technical upgrade. It’s a statement of intent: Avalanche wants to be the go-to blockchain for speed, accessibility, and innovation. So whether you’re a user or just curious, now’s the time to check out what this blockchain has to offer. What do you think? Will this update be a game changer? Share your thoughts in the comments!
