In March 2019, the defendant Wang XX, under the organization of Luo XX (who is at large), illegally crossed the border to Mengbo, Myanmar, to engage in telecom network fraud activities targeting domestic residents. In June 2019, Wang XX illegally crossed back into the country. In August 2019, Wang XX again crossed into Myanmar under the organization of Luo XX to engage in telecom network fraud activities, and after a few days of work, returned to the country through illegal means. In April 2020, Wang XX again illegally left the country to a fraudulent company in Mengbo, Myanmar, to engage in telecom network fraud activities, and later surrendered at the border in December 2020.
The People's Court of Puan County held that the defendant Wang XX committed the crimes of fraud and illegally crossing the national (border) boundary. Based on the case circumstances and the facts, nature, circumstances of the defendant's crimes, and the degree of harm to society, the court sentenced Wang XX to a fixed-term imprisonment of one year and three months, and imposed a fine of 15,000 RMB.
The judge reminded that one should not blindly pursue so-called 'high salaries' and violate legal boundaries. In this case, Wang XX, due to naively believing in the temptation of 'high salaries,' was fully aware that his actions violated national laws and regulations, yet still repeatedly illegally crossed the border and participated in telecom network fraud, especially in serious criminal activities such as 'pig butchering' that severely harm the financial safety of the people. His actions were of a serious nature and had serious consequences, warranting severe punishment according to the law.
Everyone should enhance their legal awareness, be vigilant against overseas high-salary recruitment traps, choose legal employment paths, jointly maintain national security and social stability, and avoid taking irreversible paths.
