When John Collins-Black reached the status of a billionaire, he decided to return to his childhood dream — to arrange a grand treasure hunt. His project has become an unusual gift for adventurers: five treasure chests with a total value of $ 2 million are hidden all over America.
Treasure Hunt: How it All Started
The idea originated with Collins-Black many years ago, when he was inspired by the search for the legendary treasures of art dealer Forrest Fenn.
"I've always wanted to experience what it's like to go on a real treasure hunt," John shares.
He spent five years implementing his idea: each of the five treasures is unique, and one of them is dedicated to Forrest Fenn himself. Among the jewels are a Greek gold brooch of the IV century BC, an Olympic medal of sprinter Wilma Rudolph and a sapphire brooch by Jacqueline Kennedy.
The purpose of the project
Collins-Black wanted his idea to help people return to nature.
"I tried to distract people from the screens and remind them of the beauty of the world around them. The feeling of freedom that I experienced during the search for Fenn's treasures, I wanted to give to others," the billionaire said.
How did John become a billionaire?
Collins-Black created successful job search sites after the 2008 crisis. These platforms have helped millions of Americans find jobs for free. Later, he sold his companies and invested in bitcoin — "a profitable financial solution," according to him.
An open book of Adventures
John has published the book "Hidden Treasure Inside", which contains tips for finding chests. The physical copies scattered instantly, but he made the digital version available to everyone so that everyone could join the adventure.
The chests are located on public lands, no further than 4.8 kilometers from the roads, and are not buried underground. Until they are found, the hunt continues, and Collins-Black's dream inspires thousands of people to go on a treasure hunt.
