Golden Finance reports that according to a survey report released by Consensys, emerging markets are leading in cryptocurrency adoption in 2024. In Nigeria (84%), South Africa (66%), Vietnam (60%), the Philippines (54%), and India (50%), at least half of the respondents indicated that they own a cryptocurrency wallet in 2024. Turkey and the United States also ranked high, with 44% and 43% of respondents indicating they own a wallet, respectively. In 2024, the ownership of cryptocurrencies has increased in several countries, with Mexico growing by 8%, the Philippines and South Africa by 7%, followed by Germany at 5% and Japan at 4%. According to the survey, about 40% of respondents own cryptocurrency or have purchased cryptocurrency in the past. This proportion is lower in Japan, Argentina, Canada, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, where less than one-third of respondents have ever purchased any digital assets.
