The popular blockchain tracking service Whale Alert has released information about a colossal amount of XRP coins transferred in the last twenty hours. Two of the largest transactions were made by the San Francisco-based cryptocurrency company Ripple — it transferred several hundred million XRP. A total of 640 million XRP was transferred in just twelve hours.
Ripple transfers a giant chunk of XRP
The aforementioned data source revealed details of three major transactions. The largest of them was made by Ripple, which sent a colossal 380,000,000 XRP to an anonymous blockchain address. This amount of cryptocurrency was worth $915,171,133 at the time of the initiated transaction. The community watched this transaction with genuine interest and enthusiasm, wondering if it could be somehow related to the recent approval by regulators of Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin.
Details provided by Bithump, a researcher specializing in XRP, showed that the 380 million XRP transferred by Ripple were sent to an anonymous wallet associated with Ripple.
Additionally, 200,000,000 XRP were transferred from one unknown wallet to another — equivalent to $485,376,345. Bithump stated that this transaction was also made between wallets associated with Ripple. Thus, during this period, the Ripple crypto world transferred 580,000,000 XRP.
Anonymous whales move 60,000,000 XRP
The third and smallest transfer amounted to 60,000,000 XRP, which is equivalent to $145,498,224. Tens of millions of coins were also transferred between anonymous wallets. Overall, to date, Whale Alert has recorded a total XRP transfer amounting to $1.5458 billion. In the last two days, the fourth-largest cryptocurrency XRP has demonstrated an impressive growth of 25.74%, made possible by the aforementioned approval of RLUSD for listing on cryptocurrency exchanges. XRP surged from $1.92 and is trading at $2.24 at the time of writing.
