According to ChainCatcher, Meta Platforms (META.O) donated $1 million to President-elect Trump's inauguration fund, marking the latest move by the company's CEO Mark Zuckerberg to solidify the once tense relationship with Trump.
The company confirmed the donation, which is different from Zuckerberg and his company's past practices. Previously, Trump threatened during his campaign that he would punish Zuckerberg if he attempted to influence the election against him. Zuckerberg's efforts to strengthen relationships began several years ago, including a dinner with Trump on the terrace of Mar-a-Lago in November. Before the dinner, Zuckerberg privately showed Trump Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses and gifted them to him.
