Microsoft focuses on AI rather than cryptocurrency
Microsoft is currently focusing more on artificial intelligence (AI) than on cryptocurrency. The company has made significant investments in the AI field, particularly through partnerships with OpenAI, with total investments reaching $13 billion since 2019. Their goal is to integrate AI technologies across all their products to enhance the interaction between humans and computers.
Recently, Microsoft shareholders voted against a proposal to invest a portion of the funds in Bitcoin, mainly due to concerns about the volatility of this currency and the preference for stable assets. They do not see a practical need for investing in Bitcoin in the current context.
Although there are still some opinions in favor of considering Bitcoin as an inflation hedge, Microsoft does not seem to have specific plans to add Bitcoin to its balance sheet.
