Investment proposal for Bitcoin rejected! Microsoft prefers to choose assets with lower volatility
The proposal was submitted by the National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR) in the United States, suggesting that Microsoft evaluate the potential benefits of including Bitcoin in the company's balance sheet. NCPPR believes that Bitcoin is an "excellent" inflation hedge and points out that its performance exceeds that of corporate bonds, making it a strong option for diversifying corporate fund management.
The proposal was also attached to Microsoft's proxy statement, recommending that the company consider Bitcoin as a means of diversified asset allocation. However, this proposal failed to gain support.
Microsoft's board recommended that shareholders vote against this proposal on the grounds that the company is already assessing investments, including cryptocurrencies, but prefers to choose assets with lower volatility. Shareholders ultimately accepted the board's recommendation and rejected the proposal.
