Altcoin Season 2024: “Strange and Challenging,” Only a Few Breakthrough Coins

The 2024 altcoin season is expected to face many challenges, according to Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant. He points out that the current liquidity situation is very limited, making only a few altcoins capable of attracting new capital flows. The traditional relationship between Bitcoin and altcoins is no longer as strong as before, with Bitcoin becoming increasingly “detached” from the general cryptocurrency ecosystem, largely due to the influence of spot Bitcoin ETFs and capital flows from institutional investors.

To survive in the current context, altcoins need a clear strategy and adaptability. Two paths that altcoins can pursue include creating a wrapped version of Bitcoin (Wrapped BTC) and building a true monetary ecosystem, focusing on stablecoins or integration with Bitcoin. Mr. Ju recommends that investors choose altcoins with resilience and long-term holding potential, as only a few will truly succeed in this challenging altcoin season.
