Continue with systematic trading
Last night, risk came again, and ORDI surged directly by more than 20 points, resulting in a loss of up to 200U. After reaching a high, I didn't immediately replenish my position after 51, thinking I would wait a bit longer, as I had to be prepared for the possibility of another surge of dozens of points at any time.
In the cryptocurrency market, it’s quite normal to see a surge of 50 points, then consolidate for a bit before surging another 50 points. However, such market conditions are still relatively rare. Sometimes, if a strategy focuses too much on these extreme conditions, the returns can be very low. Of course, my current strategy can handle a 100-point fluctuation without much issue.
Previously, during the first wave of ENS, there was a surge of over 50 points, followed by another surge of over 30 points, and I successfully escaped by replenishing my position. However, at that time, the risk of funds was already very high, with a loss of 30% of the account balance.
I am well aware that my current strategy often encounters situations where I have to hold positions, but with the current strategy, holding is not a significant issue because the exit points are not particularly low. Moreover, I will exit after making only 0.5 points, and the system will enforce this strictly.
As long as the program runs continuously, every few minutes the system will cancel all current orders and reset the sell orders. Therefore, no matter how I replenish my position, it will sell out at 0.5 points, and manual replenishment can only be done at the current market price; otherwise, it will also be canceled by the system.
This systematic trading has shown initial results, with a turnover in less than a month and a relatively good control of drawdowns. I am also making fewer trading operations myself. In the future, I will continue to improve and optimize my program, developing different strategies to face various market conditions.
