MSI has announced the launch of the Claw 7 AI+ gaming laptop, which is a major step up from the previous MSI Claw, which received mixed reviews when it was launched earlier this year.
The new device is based on the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor with Lunar Lake architecture, supported by 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 512 GB of storage, making it a strong competitor to the Asus ROG Ally X.
The original MSI Claw faced technical challenges with Intel's Meteor Lake architecture, which proved inefficient in mobile devices compared to competing AMD processors.
However, the new version comes with the more efficient Lunar Lake architecture, which provides better performance in gaming.
MSI made limited changes to the exterior design of the new device compared to the previous version, but added an additional Thunderbolt 4 port to enhance connectivity.
The device has a 7-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 pixels, a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and a brightness of 500 candles.
The company will offer the MSI Claw 7 AI+ device at a price of $800, and it will be available in the markets starting next December in the United States and other global markets.
With these improvements, MSI seeks to strengthen its position in the portable gaming device market, while providing new performance and technologies that meet the needs of professional gamers, and compete strongly with similar devices.
