Michael Saylor "shill" Bitcoin at Microsoft shareholder meeting
Michael Saylor, CEO of MicroStrategy, is working to persuade Microsoft’s leadership to consider investing in Bitcoin. He will have three minutes to present his case to the board on December 10, amidst a proposal from shareholders for Microsoft to evaluate the possibility of investing in Bitcoin. Saylor argues that holding Bitcoin could help stabilize Microsoft’s stock and mitigate financial risks, especially as 98.5% of Microsoft’s current enterprise value is based on quarterly earnings, while only 1.5% is based on tangible assets.
Microsoft has considered investment opportunities, including Bitcoin, and the management currently recommends that shareholders vote against this proposal. However, MicroStrategy's impressive success in investing in Bitcoin, with shares rising over 300% this year, has sparked much discussion about whether Microsoft should adjust its asset strategy or not.
