Wall Street economists generally believe that the Federal Reserve's rapid pace of interest rate cuts will not continue into 2025 and may turn into a cut at every other meeting.

The market widely expects the Federal Reserve to cut rates again at its December meeting. The question is how they will proceed next year.

Recent stubborn inflation data and evidence of steady growth in the U.S. economy raise doubts about whether the Federal Reserve will cut rates as quickly as previously indicated. In September, the Federal Reserve's Summary of Economic Projections (SEP) forecasted four rate cuts next year.

According to Bloomberg, the market currently expects the Federal Reserve to cut rates about twice in 2025. The Federal Reserve will release updated projections on December 18.
