The banana had to be replaced regularly, according to instructions that came with the artwork. There are now two cryptocurrencies based on this artwork, and one of them has increased in value since Justin Sun ate the banana. Justin Sun also invested $30 million in a new cryptocurrency project related to borrowing and lending.
