Jian Shuyong: Chairman of the Taiwan Virtual Assets Anti-Money Laundering Association/Binance Compliance Manager and Head of Money Laundering Prevention

Contributions to the industry in the past year:

  • Committed to promoting anti-money laundering education in Taiwan, this year we have conducted more than 50 virtual asset anti-money laundering education training sessions for financial institutions, government units, law enforcement agencies (procuratorates, police agencies), colleges and universities, and other different institutions.

  • Represented Binance in assisting law enforcement agencies in uncovering a transnational fraud case involving NT$200 million, strengthening international cooperation and public-private collaboration to combat financial crimes, and strengthening trust in the virtual asset market.

  • Submit a joint letter urging the Financial Supervisory Commission to take over the operation of international exchanges in Taiwan to enhance the regulatory transparency of the virtual asset market.

How do you see the development in 2025?

Q1: What are you most looking forward to seeing in the Web3 industry in 2025?

What I am most looking forward to seeing is a complete and sound regulatory environment for Web3. From the era of wild growth of virtual assets in 2017 to today, I have been in this industry for 7 years. I see relevant regulatory regulations being introduced one after another, and my heart I also feel very gratified.

I hope that all legal and compliance personnel working in the Web3 industry will be able to work in a safe and secure environment in 2025. This is my greatest expectation as the chairman of the Taiwan Virtual Asset Anti-Money Laundering Association.

Q2: From the perspective of your professional field, what do you think is the most important trend in the blockchain industry in 2025? What are your prospects and observations?

I have repeatedly emphasized on many occasions this year that I am optimistic about the development of legal compliance technology applications such as "currency flow tracking". In fact, there was no such term in Taiwan back then, and I was the first person to initiate and promote this term and concept. Although many people questioned the practicality of this thing at the time, in fact, this technology was already very popular abroad as early as 2017 and 2018, but very few people in Taiwan knew about it.

Now, whether they are judicial officers or defendants, when a case arises, they need to use this technology for offense and defense. We have seen many people invest in the currency flow tracking industry. This is a new blue ocean. If you are willing to do it, Development can actually bring good profits and rewards.

Q3: Are there any interesting plans or products you can share in 2025?

Continuing from the previous question, this year the association is discussing cooperation with Crystal, an international manufacturer of currency flow tracking. They will help introduce relevant technology and knowledge of currency flow tracking and teach relevant courses in Taiwan using Chinese cultural content. I believe it will be an anti-money laundering contribution to the Web3 industry. Police officers or law enforcement officers who want to fight against criminals will be greatly helped by improving their knowledge.
