Traders can be roughly divided into three types:
The first type is talented geniuses, who are like gods, rare and with exceptionally high profit potential. Such individuals are scarce, but there will always be some in every market.
The second type consists of those who lack talent but are unwilling to accept mediocrity, fantasizing that they can become gods of trading. They yearn for unrealistic profits, make poor trades, and wish to double their money, becoming rich through trading and elevating themselves above others. This group constitutes the majority of traders and is also the main group that incurs losses.
The third type is those who lack talent and do not aspire to be gods. They have clear goals and only pursue profits within their capabilities. Like a friend I know, who follows a step-by-step approach, never blames the market when stuck, remains calm and peaceful, and earns modestly but steadily. This type accounts for less than 10% of traders.
Talented traders can become gods, with enormous profit potential; untalented individuals can also become successful traders by lowering their expectations. The saddest are those whose ambitions exceed their abilities, dreaming of windfall profits, who ultimately become cannon fodder in the market.
