Celsius will distribute 127 million USD to creditors in the second payment

Celsius is planning to distribute 127 million USD to eligible creditors in the second payment from the Litigation Recovery Account. The amount will be released in the form of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), or US dollars (USD), depending on certain conditions of each recipient. According to filings from the bankruptcy court, this amount has been allocated after deducting fees and costs. Additionally, a portion of the funds will be retained in reserves as stipulated in Celsius's bankruptcy plan. Creditors wishing to receive assets in BTC or ETH must have an active Coinbase account, with the account information matching the data registered with Celsius. After November 9, 2024, creditors who do not receive distributions via Coinbase will automatically switch to receiving USD from an alternative distribution partner. Meanwhile, legal issues concerning former CEO Alex Mashinsky continue, with fraud allegations pending in court.
