Today we continue to look at the Desci special session. Yesterday's market was quite good, with all small valued tokens rising, especially many of the hundredfold projects we predicted performing exceptionally well. ETH has also reached 3600. In the Desci special session, we discussed 5 projects, where BIO, which needs special attention, and the well-performing Vita are worth following. Today, we will look at 2 BIO incubation projects, positioning ourselves for potentially good returns, similar to the previous AI and meme special sessions, which are likely to yield dozens of times returns.

4. CerebrumDAO

Cerebrum DAO is a globally distributed collective, owned and managed by the community, that funds and incubates translational neuroscience research with the aim of commercializing research outcomes. By leveraging decentralized collaboration and transparent governance, it connects a broad network of researchers, industry partners, and neuroscience advocates to accelerate solutions to some of the most complex scientific challenges.

Key Research Areas

1. Neuroinflammation

2. Metabolic changes, reactive oxygen species, and mitochondrial dysfunction

3. Blood-brain barrier (BBB)

Operational Process

1. Project qualifications and due diligence

Upon receiving the initial application, the DAO will assess the project's intellectual property (IP) and its commercial viability.

2. Expert review, community presentation, recommendation

Through the first phase project application, a diverse expert panel selected by Cerebrum DAO will conduct screening, focusing on neuroscience and IP fields. The expert panel's suggestions will be presented to the community, and the project will be showcased to the community. After the project presentation, following the expert panel's review and community discussion, the community will decide whether to recommend the project for funding and propose key terms.

3. On-chain community voting

Projects recommended for funding will be announced for community voting, and Cerebrum DAO token holders will vote with results recorded on the blockchain. Projects will either pass the vote and move to the next step or fail the vote and be formally rejected.

4. Execution and Incubation

For projects voted on by the on-chain community, funding will be executed simultaneously with investment tools, which are usually purchase agreements for IP-NFT or company equity. Funding will be allocated to the project in local currency according to the agreement terms.

Core Contributors

The team is fully identified with photos, and their resumes are quite impressive, featuring many PhDs or Masters in neuroscience disciplines.

Founder Brian Magierski, co-founder and CEO of 21 Impact Labs, as well as the developer of the upcoming Xponetiq application aimed at optimizing brain potential. A serial entrepreneur and co-founder/CEO/COO of multiple software startups, Brian has successfully raised multiple rounds of VC/PE capital and bought and sold companies, including selling a $340 million software startup to a public company. He is a passionate advocate for brain health, dedicated to accelerating solutions and cures for Alzheimer's disease driven by his young daughter with Down syndrome.

Token Economics

The project's token has seen a surge this month, especially after October 23, increasing almost fivefold from its low point, currently valued at 8 million USD, with a fully diluted valuation of 50 million USD. In token distribution, the treasury holds 55%, early sales fund 10%, strategic partners 15%, core team and community 15%, and public community auction 5%.

To summarize this project, currently, its market value is indeed not high, and the concept is quite good. However, the question remains whether the Desci approach can support research into top-tier brain science issues. Because this research field is so advanced, it is not just about the previous hair loss issues, but I still believe that a decentralized approach can do it well.

5. ValleyDAO

ValleyDAO is an open global community that provides funding and translational support for synthetic biology research. Synthetic biology utilizes organisms to sustainably produce products such as animal-free meats, nutrients, clothing, fuels, fertilizers, and drugs. ValleyDAO believes that developing and adopting these technologies is crucial in addressing the existential threats of climate change and food security.

Featured Projects

1. Oil-producing yeast for oil production (Rodrigo Ledesma-Amaro, Imperial College London)

Oils produced through microbial production have a wide range of applications in various fields, such as biofuels, baby formula production, and ethical palm oil. Ledesma-Amaro's project aims to increase the yield of oils in yeast while reducing expensive downstream processing costs.

2. Sustainable biological fluorination of organic molecules (Pablo I. Nikel and Mariella P. Mezina, Technical University of Denmark)

Fluorinated organic molecules are difficult to produce sustainably due to the need for harsh chemical conditions. Nikel's team has developed a process to biologically manufacture a variety of fluorinated molecules applicable in industries such as electronics, healthcare, automotive, and wearables.

3. SynbioCAD: Software for biological production processes (Jean-Luc Follon & Joan Harrison, Paris-Saclay University)

SynbioCAD is a software for designing biological production metabolic pathways, saving technicians' working time. It supports end-to-end pathway design and engineering, from strain and target selection to generating scripts for driving plasmid assembly and strain transformation liquid handlers.

Operational Process

The operational process is the same as above: submit the project, DAO approval, funding support granted upon approval.

Team

The team is also fully identified, and they all have Twitter and LinkedIn, which should be quite authentic.

Token Economics

The total token supply is 30 million tokens, currently valued at 1 USD, with a market cap of 19 million USD. There was a spike around November 5, increasing about threefold. In token distribution, 70% goes to the treasury, core contributors 10%, 6.5% to community auctions, 3.45% BIO, 3.1% ecology fund, 2.5% OTC, 1% liquidity, and 3.45% future liquidity.

To summarize this project, it somewhat feels like a pseudo-demand; biosynthesis to protect the environment is indeed hard to understand, at least for me. Wouldn't it be more efficient to tackle environmental issues from the source? So, from the current perspective, the cost-effectiveness of the brain project seems relatively high.
