Trump's first wave of tariff policies is about to be launched, somewhat unexpectedly. Trump has targeted Mexico and Canada with the first round of tariffs, planning to impose a 25% tariff on goods from these two countries. At the same time, Trump is preparing to impose an additional 10% tariff on goods from China.

Trump's decision to target Canada and Mexico with the first round of tariffs is not really about collecting taxes, but mainly aimed at addressing fentanyl drugs and illegal immigration. Mexico is the neighbor to the south of the United States, and social management is very chaotic there. Most illegal immigrants and fentanyl drugs in the U.S. come from Mexico. Trump's most important campaign slogan is to solve the illegal immigration problem.

The market generally expects Trump's first round of tariffs to target Southeast Asia, as Chinese companies usually establish factories in Southeast Asia first when going abroad. This wave of tariffs is a negative for those companies in the Tesla supply chain, as they are all establishing factories in Mexico to avoid tariffs, and there will likely be some impact.
