What is Movement? A blockchain development project based on the Move language

Movement is a blockchain project developed based on the Move programming language, consisting of two main products: M1 and M2. M1 is a Layer 1 blockchain with high performance features and full compatibility with existing technologies, allowing developers to easily access and deploy applications. The technology used in M1 is the Snowman consensus protocol, which helps improve transaction sorting performance and ensures decentralization.

M2 is a Layer 2 blockchain, operating on the Ethereum platform, using zk-rollups technology to enhance performance and security. M2 aims to serve a variety of applications, from games to financial products, while allowing interaction between applications built on Move and EVM, typically using Celestia's Blobstream technology to manage data and enhance transaction processing.

Movement Labs, the project's development team, plans to expand and build an open blockchain environment, creating opportunities for many projects and applications to come to the Move language, thanks to support from a range of major investors and strategies to recruit developers.
