Dana M. Peterson, Chief Economist of the Conference Board, said, "Consumer confidence in the U.S. continued to improve in November, reaching its highest level in the past two years. The growth in November was mainly due to consumers' more positive assessment of the current situation, particularly in the labor market. Compared to October, consumers' optimism about future job opportunities also significantly increased, reaching its highest level in nearly three years. Meanwhile, consumers' expectations for future business conditions remained unchanged, while optimism about future income slightly declined." Previously, the U.S. Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index recorded 111.7 in November, the highest since July 2023.
